Job description
As our Credit and Collections Specialist, you are responsible for all credit granting and management and collection all the outstanding accounts receivable from customers. You are also responsible for other aspects of collections, to resolve customer billing problems and reducing the amount of accounts receivable.

Schedule
8-Hour, day shift, Monday to Friday
No weekends
Job requirements
Daily activities will include:
Receiving and reviewing credit applications to ensure their completion and precision
Submit to Equifax to obtain credit report and check credit references
Assess customer credit report and references and grant appropriate credit and set terms
Inform customers/sales representatives about the outcomes of their credit applications
Assist in negotiating payment plans where extended terms are required
Monitor accounts to identify outstanding invoices
Process invoice adjustments and refunds
Investigate historical data for each invoice
Contact customers to ask about their overdue payments
Respond to billing inquiries and resolve disputes
Take actions to encourage timely invoice payments; ensuring invoices go the correct party to avoid delays
Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable via multiple forms of payment
Resolve billing and customer credit issues internally and externally
Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off as necessary
Update account status records and collection efforts
Maintain accurate customer account data
Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status
Provide administration support when required, including but not limited to reception duties
Understand multi-faceted collection processes based on different business departments (e.g. parts sales, service agreements and long-term contracts)
Qualifications
We are looking for a persistent, hard-working person, who is self-motivated to achieve targets
High level of integrity and ethical values
Minimum two years’ experience as credit specialist
Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g., skip tracing)
Familiarity with laws related to debt collection and bankruptcies
Working knowledge of MS Office; Word and Excel
Patience, flexibility, and ability to manage stress
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Skilled in negotiation
Problem-solving skills
Strong English verbal and written communication skills
